Description:
Ethnobotanical gardens, are landscapes featuring culturally significant native trees and understory plants. They not only serve as resources for enhancement of traditional knowledge but they also support cultural and ecological restoration projects. A proposed national ethnobotanical and beautification garden in Konza Technopolis, Kenya aims to achieve multiple goals.  The garden is made with an aim of revitalizing, promoting research, adding value to and preserving traditional medicinal knowledge within Kenyan communities. This will ensure the knowledge is valued and accessible, improving access to important medicinal and nutritive plants. Additionally, the project will focus on safeguarding the traditional heritage and culture of Kenyan communities, aligning with sustainable development goals. This garden can act as a buffer for Konza Technopolis, an industrial hub with potential environmental concerns. The garden will absorb pollutants, cool the city, and provide essential ecosystem services, while highlighting the importance of plant diversity for sustainable development and human well-being.
