Roles and actors in the sustainable development: the farmer, the scientist, the politician, the entrepreneur

This paper aims at discussing the possibilities of a sustainable development having as a starting point the relationship between University-Industry-Government. In doing so, it analyses a partnership between a public institute, private firms, coops, NGOs, and many others communitys actors involved in the implementation of the Program New Frontier Sandstone. This paper starts discussing the concepts of sustainable development and the most studied models on the relationship University-Industry-Government. After that, the above mentioned development program is related and, finally, the importance of society involvement in the building of sustainable development in order to have a long-term development process is showed.
