Description:
Urban challenges related to Health tech, Greentech and Smart cities can be solved by small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) using emerging technologies, for example, internet of things, blockchain, and artificial intelligence. In the Urban Tech project (Urban Tech), a cross-border collaboration between eleven Science and Technology Parks and Areas of Innovation (STPs/AOIs) in Europe, a stepwise process to identify both urban challenges and solution providers was developed and executed during 2021-2024. Urban Tech has stepwise funded the most promising solutions to reach an international market. Collaborating closely with potential customers, stakeholders and domain experts, SMEs have used emerging technologies to develop solutions enabling, for example, medical diagnostics, coaching and treatment of health-related issues, encouraging green mobility, enabled local food to reach the market, and engaged citizens in urban planning for improved spatial experience. Appended are templates and forms used in the project, available for inspiration of future similar initiatives.
