University Science Park TECHNICOM
UVP Technicom is a new science park project set up by the Technical University of Košice.
When completed, it will focus on information and communication technologies, electrical engineering, automation and control systems, engineering, civil engineering (construction, transport, geodesy) and environmental engineering (mining, metallurgy, water management), including its socio-human dimension.
Its strategic goal is to become an internationally recognized research and technology transfer centre for innovative applications supporting knowledge technologies. The new park will create conditions for the continuous development of research and development with a permanent impact on the transfer of knowledge and technology, and innovative practice at international, national and regional level. In cooperation with the University Centre for Innovation, Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Protection, it aims to become the first point of contact for companies interested in collaborating with research and development teams from university departments
provide counselling, educational activities and expertise.
Facilities already in place include a prototype and innovation centre for the production and testing of prototypes, and the design and manufacture of preparations for various technological processes. A startup centre opened in 2014, offering help with the creation of business plan, acquiring partners, searching for potential investors as well as expert and mentor support as well as access to professional workplaces, laboratories and other facilities at the university. It also offers the TUKE Incubator, which is the first point of contact for companies interested in collaborating with research and development teams from university departments.
