Background information:

The Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) was established in 2013 under the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Act, with the aim of fostering innovation and enterprise development in Kenya. It operates under the Ministry of Education.

KeNIA's mission is to promote and regulate the National Innovation System, facilitating the coordination and collaboration of various stakeholders to drive innovation and enterprise development. The agency actively supports the identification, protection, and promotion of innovative ideas while working on policies, standards, infrastructure, and partnerships to nurture these ideas.
