2022 IASP Chinese Member and Partner Salon Held Online

The IASP China office recently held its 8th IASP Chinese Member and Partner Salon in an online format.

Hosted by IASP China Office and organized by its Jiangsu Workstation, the salon was attended by over 40 representatives of STPs, AOIs and science and technology innovation partners from China, Spain, the UK, and Malaysia who discussed the coping strategies of STPs and AOIs in the face of measures in place for pandemic prevention and control.

Herbert Chen, President of IASP, shared findings on the impact of COVID-19 and the future development trend of our industry based on data collected and analyzed in the 2021 IASP Global Survey, and encouraged Chinese STPs and AOIs to increase exchanges, and spark practical solutions and thoughts. He looked forward to meeting everyone in person after the epidemic fades away. Qianmu Li, Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology, joined him as the other opening speaker, with Sophia Shang, Vice Director of IASP China Office and Head of Tus China-Japan Cross-border Innovation Platform as moderator, and the roundtable session was moderated by Hao Tang, Head of Jiangsu Workstation of IASP China Office and General Manager of TusPark (Jiangsu) Innovation Research Institute moderating the roundtable discussions.

Ongoing Covid prevention and control measures across China continue to create challenges for Chinese STPs and AOIs. As important carriers for tech and innovation work, they play a key role in economic development, supporting a large number of science and tech-based SMEs, and undertaking major connecting work in to combat the pandemic.

Helen Zhang, Senior Advisor of IASP China Office, and representatives from Tus China-Germany Park, World Intelligent Incubation Network, Caohejing Hi-Tech Park, Leaguer Science Park, Kunming Entrepreneurship and Innovation Federation, Nantong Forwork Science Park, Nanjing Future Science and Technology City, Nanjing Baixia High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Tus China-Japan Cross-border Innovation Platform, and TusPark (Jiangsu) Innovation Research Institute joined the roundtable discussion, exploring coping strategies and practical experiences of STPs and AOIs under the pandemic, and current and future cooperation between STPs and AOIs around the world.
