On September 20, 2025, IASP President Salvatore Majorana represented the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP) at the International Symposium on “Excellence Enhanced: Driving High-Quality Development through University Innovation” in Hangzhou, China. Hangzhou – capital of East China's Zhejiang province - is at the forefront of technological and industrial transformation.

The symposium was co-organized by Hangzhou Normal University, the China University Science Park Alliance, and the Yangtze River Delta Center of the International Science and Technology Innovation Service Alliance, under the guidance of the China Science and Technology Exchange Center. This International Seminar on the construction and development of university Science Parks brought together global leaders in innovation, academia, and industry to explore strategies for building innovation ecosystems, advancing cross-border collaboration, and seizing opportunities in the AI era. Salvatore delivered a speech on “International Collaboration and Innovative Paradigms for University Science Parks”, highlighting the power of cross-border cooperation in building stronger innovation ecosystems.

Other keynote speakers included IASP Past President Herbert Chen (TusPark, China), Kate Brown (Cambridge Science Park, UK), and representatives from the National University of Singapore and KU Leuven.
