Investment in agrifood at Saint-Hyacinthe

IASP member Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole (Canada) is set to welcome a transformative investment by Jefo, a multinational animal nutrition company, marking one of the most significant industrial and research commitments the ecosystem has seen in years.

The investment will fund the construction of a new state-of-the-art production facility and the establishment of a dedicated poultry research centre within the Saint-Hyacinthe ecosystem. On the industrial side, the project includes the addition of new production lines that will increase Jefo’s capacity for animal feed additives by more than fivefold over the coming years.

The new poultry research centre will complement this industrial expansion by deepening local expertise in animal health, nutrition and sustainable food systems, while fostering closer collaboration between industry actors and research partners.

Beyond infrastructure, the project is expected to generate aproximately 150 new jobs in the region, further consolidating Saint Hyacinthe’s position as a hub for skilled employment in science and technology driven industries. Companies operating within the ecosystem benefit from proximity to specialised research institutions an experienced workforce, and integrated infrastructure built for the demands of modern agri-food supply chains.
