UBT Science, Innovation and Technology Park strengthens academic and cultural ties with Italy, with the inauguration of the ‘Italian Corner’ and the ‘CELI Certification Centre’, supported by the Italian embassy in Kosovo.

The ceremony was held on March 9, attended by the Ambassador of Italy in Kosovo, Maurizio Antonini, alongside the UBT (University for Business and Technology) Rector Edmond Hajrizi, professors, and students.

The Italian Corner introduces a dedicated space for contemporary Italian literature, while the CELI Certification Centre celebrates students’ achievements in Italian language proficiency through international certification. During the event, participants of UBT’s Italian language course were awarded certificates, highlighting both academic and cultural accomplishment and cultural engagement.

“UBT has built over the years a broad network of cooperation with European institutions and projects. This initiative is part of our efforts to create more opportunities for our students and researchers. The Italian Corner will serve as an important space for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the Italian language and culture, opening new pathways for academic cooperation and joint projects in the future,” said Rector Hajrizi. He also further emphasised UBT’s commitment to expanding collaborations with Italian institutions, considering these partnerships as vital for students’ academic and professional growth.

The Ambassador praised the initiative and highlighted the broader impact of promoting the Italian language and culture in Kosovo. “I am very happy and proud to be here today at UBT. The cooperation between the Embassy of Italy and UBT is very strong, and this project is a concrete demonstration of that relationship. Through this initiatives, we aim to promote the Italian language, culture, and academic ties between Italy and Kosovo,” he stated.

The inauguration represents a significant milestone in strengthening academic, cultural and institutional relations between UBT and Italy, providing new spaces for knowledge exchange and international cooperation.
