This five-year initiative, titled “Sustainable Efforts for Climate Mitigation and Reconstruction in Rio Grande do Sul Through International Academic Cooperation”, was formalised in June 2025. It is a joint effort between the Fulbright commission and the Brazilian and US governments, focused on strengthening technical and scientific collaboration to support sustainable recovery efforts in flood-affected regions of southern Brazil.
