The second edition of New Space & Solutions took place at IASP member Sevilla TechPark, reinforcing the park's position as a key player in the international space ecosystem. Held from 14 to 17 April, the event brought together more than 120 speakers from 18 countries and representatives from over 100 organisations, united around a shared agenda: exchanging knowledge, building strategic partnerships, and examining the challenges and opportunities of the new space economy.

In his welcome address, Luis Pérez Díaz, Sevilla TechPark managing director, highlighted the deep ties between Sevilla's industry and the aerospace sector. This connection comes from the park itself, as three organisations based at Sevilla TechPark were actively involved in NASA's Artemis II mission, which sent astronauts back to the moon more than 50 years after the first landing.

The event tackled some of the most pressing questions shaping the future of the space sector and its impact on society, from how space technologies support daily life to the growing investment in space infrastructure, and the contributions being made by companies, universities, and institutions in areas such as health, emergency response, sustainability, and connectivity. Among the most anticipated moments was a live link-up with the International Space Station, orbiting some 400 kilometres above Earth, giving attendees the rare opportunity to connect directly with some of the astronauts.

The growing momentum around New Space & Solutions reflects a broader transformation taking place in Sevilla. Strategic milestones, including the city's selection as headquarters of the Spanish Space Agency, and the launch of ESA-BIC Andalusia, have elevated its profile as one of southern Europe's leading technology hubs, with Sevilla TechPark serving as a key facilitator for aerospace research and innovation.

As the space economy continues to grow, Sevilla TechPark's role as an international connector positions it as an increasingly vital node in Europe's aerospace innovation landscape.
