Background information

Boğaziçi University Technopark, which was established in 2009, became operational on October 1, 2010. The Teknopark is home to a range of companies operating in different sectors ranging from earthquake research to communication, software design, energy and medical research.

Projects at the park involve research assistants and faculty members from different disciplines working together to transform the scientific knowledge obtained from academic research into technology. Close cooperation with the university includes access to its rich library, extensive laboratory facilities and international connections to support projects being developed at the park.

The Boğaziçi University Technopark’s mission is to produce technological knowledge, develop innovation in product and production methods, and to increase technological efficiency, with the goal of increasing national competitiveness. It also supports technology-intensive entrepreneurship, helps SMEs to adapt to new and advanced technologies, and creates investment opportunities in technology-intensive areas, to advance its goal of creating highly skilled jobs and increasing foreign investment in Turkey.
