Hussain Al Mahmoudi elected new President of IASP WANA Division

IASP is pleased to announce that Hussain Al Mahmoudi (Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park, UAE) has been elected as the new President of the IASP West Asia and North Africa (WANA) Division.

He takes over from AminReza Khaleghian (Pardis Technology Park, Iran), who we thank for his dedication and contribution to the division.

Mr Hussain Al Mahmoudi was appointed CEO of Sharjah Science and Technology Park (UAE) in 2015 and has dedicated his time serving as Director General committed to advancing global and local innovation. His mission is to forge collaborative, long-term partnerships among the triple helix, and cultivate an ecosystem of innovation, making Sharjah one of the main R&D centres in the UAE. Outside the park, Hussain is also a keynote speaker and serves as the country Chair for the World Business Angels Investment Forum.

Hussain commented: "I'm delighted to be given the chance to serve as the next president of WANA. I would like to thank all my colleagues who supported me and voted for me and look forward to working together in promoting IASP regional network and objectives. Our regional network of Science Parks has great potential to grow and excel, and contribute to our local and regional economies creating more impact and sustainable growth. Thank you for your trust and I look forward to building a growing IASP network.”
