Korea and France joint committee on science and technology convenes for ninth meeting

The Korea Innovation Foundation (INNOPOLIS) held the ninth Korea-France Joint Committee on Science and Technology, coinciding with the official visit of Emmanuel Macron to South Korea and marking the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between both countries. 

The meeting brought together a broad range of leading science and innovation institutions from both countries. The South Korean delegation included IASP member, the Korea Innovation Foundation, and other institutions such as the Ministry of Science and ICT, the National Research Foundation of Korea, the Institute of Basic Science, the AI Safety Institute, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Seoul National University, among others. On the French side, participants included the Ministry of Higher Education Research and Space, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, French National Research Agency (ANR), The French University Alliance, and more. 

The committee provided a platform for in-depth discussions on key areas of bilateral cooperation, including researcher mobility and the development of joint research initiatives. 

As part of the agenda, IASP member Innopolis and SATT Nord, a leading French technology company, reviewed their ongoing collaboration in deep-tech commercialisation. Both agreed to further expand their cooperation with focus in identifying and matching industry demand for pilot projects, strengthening investment links and promoting international joint research. These efforts aim to support the development of a dynamic and interconnected innovation ecosystem between South Korea and France.
