On 30 July, IASP member SHIFT with Bloomberg Associates formally launched a publication "Innovation District and Local Communities: A Field Guide for Action at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park" with partners, the Greater London Authority, the Knowledge Quarter, and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Innovation District (also involving Here East).
With detailed case studies and interviews, this report is a rich, instructive resource for incorporating community voices into the development of an innovation ecosystem from the very outset. It highlights best practices from a variety of sectors to serve as inspiration. The report is intended to be a practical tool for developers, policy makers, and government leaders in London and in cities around the world to ensure innovation is inclusive and grounded in civic value.
A launch event gathered 120+ policymakers and thought leaders from academia, the non-profit space, the private sector, and government entities for a dynamic discussion on the field guide’s insights and recommendations.
