Kraków Technology Park (KPT), Poland, celebrated its 25th birthday on 17 February with a gala celebration attended by staff, companies, international guests and the Minister of Economic Development and Technology.

Held at its headquarters, the gala was an opportunity to celebrate the achievements not only of the KPT itself, but also of the companies that the park has supported over the years, and to present selected companies from the KPT ecosystem with 25 Years Prizes: golden statuettes of the Małopolska Tree of Innovation and Investment.

“Our mission is to support the modern economy of Małopolska by helping businesses to develop. The KPT offers programmes, measures, and activities designed to support entrepreneurs at various stages of their operation. On our 25th birthday, we decided to recognise their work and achievements, because their success is what we find the most important,” Tadeusz Zaremba, CEO of KPT explained.

The winning companies were Autenti, for attracting an unprecedented investment and readiness to share know-how; M.A.D. Engineers, who received the "longest with us" award; Velis Real Estate Tech, who won the International Success prize; Reality Games, who were awarded the Games Master prize, and PROTECH who took home the Spectacular Success prize.

The event was attended by Poland’s Minister of Economic Development and Technology, Waldemar Buda, who presented distinctions for contributions to the Polish economy to five companies: Poltreg, Dako, Fideltronik, Synerise, and Protech, as well as presenting the KPT staff with distinctions and medals for their long-term service. IASP’s CEO Ebba Lund also joined the anniversary celebrations, bringing congratulations from IASP and our members around the world.

The official celebrations were accompanied by an entertainment zone that illustrated technology changes in the last 25 years. Vintage game machines from the 1990s were juxtaposed against augmented reality and other cutting-edge developments, demonstrating the technological leap the world has witnessed in the last quarter of a century.

Many companies that KPT has cooperated with over the years contributed to the event: one of the statuettes was presented by a robot branded by Husarion, and one of the game machines was delivered by Rage Quit Games.

Kraków Technology Park (KPT) was incorporated in 1997 to manage the special economic zone. and in 2000 was one of Poland’s first parks to join the IASP, as it continued expanding operations and adding functions characteristic of a technology park.

KPT’s offer has expanded over the years to include support throughout the enterprise development cycle and focusing on incubation, acceleration, funding, initiation of events, and cooperation with various focus sectors. The first Digital Dragons Conference for the games development sector was held in 2012. In 2015, KPT was certified as a Living Lab and currently operates in two buildings, runs several international projects, and supports around 400 businesses within its ecosystem. It has managed the Polish Investment Zone in Małopolska and the Jędrzejowski County since 2018.
