March Question of the Month answers
Text:

This month we inquired about how our members use Generative AI tools in their daily work.

GenAI tools are types of Artificial Intelligence that can create original content, such as text, images, videos, music, and code. Unlike traditional AI, which typically analyses or classifies existing data, GenAI tools learn patterns from vast databases to generate novel outputs that resemble human-created work. These tools are widely used to automate tasks, enhance creativity, and improve productivity. The most popular examples include ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot.

For our March Question of the Month, we asked our members in which area did them and their teams most frequently use these tools, and got very interesting picture of what’s happening in our community. Most of those who responded to our poll (61.5%) use GenAI tools mainly for content creation, such as drafting reports, emails, and presentations. The next majority (30.8%) mainly used these tools for daily workflows such as communication, decision support, and data handling. Other responses included editing and/or translations (15.4%), research and document summarization (15.4%), data analysis (15.4%), and ideation or brainstorming (7.7%).

Considering these results, it's become clear that Generative AI is no longer a distant technology, but a normalised part of everyday professional and personal life. Its integration across such a wide range of activities reflects not only its versatility, but also a growing familiarity and confidence among its users, who can rely on it to streamline workflows and unlock new forms of creativity. As its presence continues to expand, the challenge ahead is not whether to use GenAI, but how to use it responsibly, effectively and within a mindset that embraces its potential benefits for our industry.
