The Call for Papers recently closed for our upcoming World Conference, attracting a great response from around the world.

IASP Luxembourg will focus on the main theme of “Megatrends in innovation ecosystems: what are the impacts for STPs and AOIs?”, and will consider questions of how STPs/AOIs and their resident organisations are impacted by these megatrends; how they work with them and handle them, and the role they can play in shaping or influencing them.

Using the notion of megatrends and possible futures when designing, implementing and redefining STPs/AOIs and other global innovation ecosystems is key to future-proofing and ensuring our industry remains at the cutting edge of developing trends.

Potential speakers and authors from 27 different countries shared their contributions for a range of potential sessions, including imagining and shaping the future, explorations of growth and sustainability, internationalisation, food security, the energy transition, reaching untapped talent, collaboration for an ageing population, cities as crucibles for innovation, supporting deeptech companies, and the STP/AOI industry in the new economy.

Papers will now be evaluated by the conference Steering Committee, who will then start to build the scientific programme.

Successful authors will join keynote speaker Daria Krivonos, CEO of the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies, an independent non-profit think-tank that publishes in-depth studies into topics with high relevance for our industry, such as the future of global trade and financial services, climate innovation, and emerging risks in infrastructure development. It is a leading voice in the conversation around megatrends, long-term trends that influence societies globally. Identifying the megatrends that will influence the future of science parks and areas of innovation is key to being prepared for their effects, and Daria will have plenty of insights to help all of us be as adaptable as possible for whatever the future will bring.
