In September 2024 IASP member Konza Technopolis will be welcoming us to Nairobi, as they host IASP’s 41st World Conference from 24-27 September 2024. The conference will be running under the main theme “Demographics, entrepreneurship, and technology: defining the frontiers of future economies”.

With the launch of the Call for Contributions we invite all STP, AOI, and ID experts, professionals, and researchers worldwide to submit a paper proposal for your chance to present at #IASPnairobi.

IASP warmly invites you to download the Call for Contributions, read the full list of sessions, and speak at IASP 2024.

The UN estimates that by 2023 1.3 billion individuals worldwide will be between the ages of 15-24. This demographic shift is set to reshape the global landscape, and regions with the greatest youth populations represent a vas potential, from expanding their share of global workforce to fostering innovation, driving economic growth, and enlarging domestic consumer markets.

Simultaneously, the UN anticipates a contrasting future, with one in six individuals expected to be over 65 years old by 2050. Regions such as Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, Northen America, and Oceania, youth populations have plateaued, bringing along an ageing population and causing diminishing workforces. Contrastingly to the surge in youth populations in Asia and Africa, this demographic shift towards older populations threatens to shrink domestic markets. On the other hand, Asia and Africa’s young populations brings the promise of a young workforce, a growth in labour supply, innovation, and consumer potential, yet still brings unique challenges.

As countries are transitioning into knowledge-based economies, and the intersection of technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship offers new models of shared growth, based on innovative startups seeking to address the Global Challenges.
