Meet our MC Lars!

We’ve found some amazing ways to mingle at IASP Virtual, and connect you with your colleagues from around the world even in a year when we can't travel to see each other.

We'll be networking almost like we would in real life with a fantastic tool called Gatherly, a spatial video chat platform that lets you move around and talk to anyone at the event. As soon as you move close to someone on the map, you automatically start video-chatting with them. Move into an open group, and you'll join their conversation seamlessly, and you can also talk in private or write in the chat to whoever you wish.

You’ll be able to network freely, speaking to who you want to for however long you want. There’s a map showing the location of everyone in the virtual room: you can click anywhere on the map to set a destination, and you'll start moving in that direction, or click again to change direction. There’s even an elevator to move to other rooms!

Our MC Lars Sørensen will be there with us, with some icebreaking activities, and optional quizzes and games to help us unwind and socialise in the breaks. You can meet him in the video below!

But that’s not the only way you can get to know people! Throughout the programme you’ll find short, light-hearted quickfire double interviews with IASP colleagues from different countries. They are paired together because they are opposites, or have something in common, and they’ll be sharing their own perspectives in response to some fun questions about themselves, their country and organisation.

Once you log in to the IASP Virtual platform, you'll be able to filter the programme to find your favourite sessions and build your own personal agenda, so don't forget to keep an eye out for interviews with people you know and people you don't!.
