IASP was delighted to see several of our Turkish members recently as part of a delegation of science parks which visited the Malaga TechPark (Spain) where IASP Headquarters is located.

The Turkish ambassador to Spain Mr Burak Akçapar led the delegation, which included IASP members Faruk Inaltekin, Director General of Bilkent Cyberpark, Mehmet Ali Okur, Director General, Marmara Teknokent, Prof. Dr. Orhan Tanişman, Director General of Yıldız Teknoloji Geliştirme Bölgesi Teknopark, and Serdar Raşit Alemdar, Director General of ODTÜ Teknokent, to explore future collaborations with Malaga TechPark.

At the ‘Green Lemon’ building in Malaga TechPark, a new space for accelerating disruptive technologies and entrepreneurial projects, the delegation met with Malaga TechPark Director General Felipe Romera and Sonia Palomo, Director of Tech Transfer and International Relations and learned more about the accelerator’s Artificial Intelligence focus.

They also met with Soldedad Diaz of APTE, the Spanish Association of Science Parks, who shared perspectives on the Spanish science park industry as a whole, and with IASP’s Director of Partnerships and Knowledge Management, Alicia Shelley.
