Ethics Of Artificial Intelligence: Notes From A Developing Country

My presentation highlights development of artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on social relations in a world that has no prior experience. Since humans started using tools, questions about their use have never ceased. Current development in AI threatens the existing norm and raise important issues that must be anticipated and addressed prior to its widespread use. I will explore the ethical issues that arise in technology adoption and the responses that societies adopt as a coping mechanism or mitigation for the impact brought about by the new method of doing things particularly in developing countries.  

AI takes over some amount of thinking and decision making. It is unprecedented and compelling. It threatens traditions and uniqueness of societies. Should they struggle to retain that? Do they need to or should they just move on? In a world where commerce is rooted in competition and intellectual property rights, how should technology be managed to make it fair and accessible to all? Should AI learn from some cultures only?  Should they be imbued with the character of `the developer?
