Background information

POLSAN Teknokent is a technology development and innovation park being developed in Istanbul, with a strong focus on security technologies and innovation-driven industrial collaboration. The project aims to support research, entrepreneurship, and advanced technology development while strengthening Turkey’s national security and technology ecosystem. POLSAN Teknokent has a planned surface area of approximately 148,000 m². The park is being developed in the Tuzla Akfırat area of Istanbul, where construction activities have already commenced.

The park was officially established through Presidential Decree No. 9644 dated March 20, 2025, in partnership with the Police Welfare and Mutual Aid Fund (POLSAN), Istanbul Health Sciences University, the Police Academy, and Ankara Sigorta, another POLSAN-affiliated company.

The technopark seeks to create strong synergies with nearby universities, industrial organisations, and technology development zones. Its strategic focus on security technologies includes supporting innovation clusters, entrepreneurship, incubation activities, venture capital support, and national and international collaboration initiatives related to security and defence-oriented technologies.
