The Immersive Centre: Integrating People, Industry, and Urban Development in the Era of Generative AI

Executive Summary: The Buenos Aires Innovation Park is a transformative initiative that repurposed underutilized public land into a dynamic hub for innovation, research, and entrepreneurship. A key element of this project is its Immersive Center, a 1,300 m² space designed to foster collaboration among startups, corporations, experts, and the broader community from the earliest stages of development. 

The Immersive Center was strategically established before most buildings in the Park were completed, allowing it to serve as a central hub for interaction, knowledge exchange, and co-creation. Since its inauguration in late 2023, it has already hosted over 80 events, including Startup Pitch Competitions, Hackathons, Industry Conferences, and Investor Days, demonstrating its pivotal role in accelerating the Park’s ecosystem. 

This paper highlights how the early investment in a dedicated collaboration space has significantly enhanced the Park’s impact, positioning Buenos Aires as a leading regional innovation hub. By integrating people, industry, and urban development, the Park exemplifies how cities can drive science, technology, and economic growth through strategic planning and engagement. The Buenos Aires Innovation Park offers a model for other urban innovation initiatives worldwide, proving that innovation ecosystems can thrive even before their full physical infrastructure is in place.
