Durana Tech Park, the first of its kind in Albania, has officially opened in its capital city, Tirana, with a strong inaugural cohort that includes 24 companies, six startups, two digital nomads, and two academic institutions. The launch is a milestone for Albania’s national digitalisation strategy, and positions the new park as a key hub for technology, innovation, and high-skilled job creation.

Backed by supportive legislation and fiscal incentives, Durana Tech Park is designed to attract both local talent and international players. The park offers state-of-the-art infrastructure and a forward-thinking regulatory framework, developed through a thorough analysis of best practices from tech parks across Europe and around the world.

At the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Edi Rama highlighted the park’s long-term goals: “Our main goal is not just to bring foreign companies, but to engage as many Albanian talents as possible. We’ve built this initiative by learning from others’ successes and failures — and I believe we’ve created something unique.”

The park is expected to generate over 5,000 high-skill jobs and boost Albania’s tech exports and income by an estimated €3.5 billion over the next two decades. Projected state revenues from the initiative could exceed €500 million in the same period.

Plans are also underway to develop a second tech hub in Vlora, expanding the country’s innovation infrastructure further and reinforcing Albania’s commitment to digital growth.
