The IASP General Assembly which took place in Beijing's World Conference 2025 brought new faces to the IASP International Board.
IASP Executive Board
During the Assembly, the election of a new President was ratified: outgoing IASP President Lena Miranda, CEO of Linköping Science Park (Sweden), handed over the presidency to her succesor, Salvatore Majorana, CEO of Kilometro Rosso (Italy). He begins his term as IASP President following two years as Vice President. Lena began her term in 2023 and formally handed her presidential medal to Salvatore during the Closing Ceremony on September 19, 2025.
Salvatore is a trained engineer with solid experience in patent portfolio management, IP licensing and tech-based start-up creation. Upon his appointment he commented that ”IASP brings together a diverse community that learns from one another and grows stronger through collaboration. I am grateful to the General Assembly for trusting me in the role. As President, I look forward to nurturing these connections and ensuring that our association remains a place where ideas and best practices can flourish.”
He will now chair the IASP International Board, which is made up of 15 members from 15 different countries and which meets twice a year.
Deepanwita Chattopadhyay, CEO of IKP (India), was approved by the IASP General Assembly as Vice President of IASP and Tom Bentley, Melbourne Innovation Districts (Australia), also joins the Executive Board as Treasurer of IASP, taking over from outgoing Treasurer Jorge Audy, Superintendent for Innovation and Development PUCRS and TECNOPUC (Brazil).
IASP International Board of Directors
New members of the International Board of Directors were also elected during the IASP General Assembly. The new Directors are: Diego De Biasio, CEO of Technoport (Luxembourg) and Ezequiel Mesquita, Executive Director of Buenos Aires Innovation Park (Argentina).
In addition, the IASP Beijing Conference also marked the start of the terms for Agnes von Matuschka, CEO of Potsdam Science Park (Germany), as IASP European Division President (taking over from Jernej Pintar, CEO of Technology Park Ljubljana, Slovenia) and Hao Tang, TusPark (Jiangsu) Innovation Research Institute (China), as IASP Asia Pacific Division President (taking over from Tom Bentley, Melbourne Innovation Districts, Australia).
