The 4th Industrial Revolution : Necessary Personal and Organizational Skills for a Successful Transition

This Paper addresses necessary personal and organizational skills for a successful adoption of Industry 4.0. For this purpose, the paper firstly provides a deep dive into different aspects, opportunities and challenges of Industry 4.0 and then inspiring from Peter Drucker’s “Doing Things Right vs. Doing Right Things”, we focus on balancing skill between the “Doing Things Right” of educational systems, multi-disciplinary R&D and innovation systems to take the maximum advantage of exponential growth and gracefully and efficiently surf on the Industry 4.0 waves, and meanwhile, exploring the emotional skills and knowledge as anchors for our fast kayak to realize the “Doing Right Things”, in order to set a meaningful life compass and effectively achieve our life values. Finally, we have proposed three novel approaches for sociometrical analysis and design of team building and teamwork among individuals and organizations.
